Our guide had an interesting sense of humor and provided a unique perspective of Chinatown. I thought it was really well planned out, and we got to see a lot. Some people on the tour weren't aware how long the tour lasted, but I thought it was very clear when we signed up that it would be several hours. The tour ended in a teashop which was probably the highlight of the tour. The tourguide stuck around for quite awhile after the official end, which showed that he really liked getting to know the group and wasn't just doing it for the tips. I highly recommend this tour if you are in San Fran!

We were excited for a food tour having been on some great ones previously. This tour seemed to be more about obscure facts and history than the food. The food was wonderful but a lot of standing around waiting and listening to poorly delivered information.

Brian was full of energy and catered the trip to our group. Lots of tasty food and fun history. Fortune cookies and tea tasting were our favorite.

If you’re looking for a great introduction to the food, culture, and history of San Francisco’s Chinatown then look no further. This was 3.5 hours so we’ll spent and in terms of value for money a 11 out of 10. Brian was a super (!!) tour guide using facts and humor to craft an excellent narrative for the tour (Many thanks!). Make sure you go hungry because you’ll be well fed - we had rolls, dim sum, noodles, pot stickers, moon cake and Peking duck. The piece de resistance to the tour was our last stop at Vital Tea-Leaf for a tasting of 6 different teas. The explanations about the teas’ benefits, and their tastes, were great, but 90+ year-old “Uncle (Mad Dog) G” provided the best sales pitch and comedy show ever! (Keep going Uncle!) My only comment on the content of the tour is that the tour guide could add a few extra comments about how all the street art reflects the culture and history of Chinatown. I look forward to trying some of their other “Local Tastes of the City Tours!”

Our tour guide, Brian, really cared about making our tour personal and fun. He was engaging and knowledgeable. One highlight was the tea shop and tasting! It was amazing!! I definitely want to come back and bring family members to experience it with me!

Learnt the history of Chinatown. Tried steamed buns, dim sun, chow mein, pot stickers Peking duck and more. Even mangaged to sample in excess of 6 different types of Chinese tea. So much good and lots of new information and a better understanding of the history of the area. Make sure you don’t have lunch before and expect to eat, see and learn more than you imagined in 3 hours. Thanks to Brian.

It was an easy walk with tasty food and good stories that went along with each. The last stop was a tea shop that was truly a delightful experience.

We had such a nice time. Isabella has a wealth of information and is such a pleasure. She ordered our food throughout the tour. We enjoyed the story telling behind the culture, architecture and such. We had a behind the scenes look at one of the theaters while they were practicing. Everyone was so nice. The tea tasting was so fun. The three hours went by so fast. It's a must do if you want to walk around and learn about the surroundings.
